Two Carle Illinois Students Among Campus-Wide Innovation Prize 2021 Finalists

Two Carle Illinois College of Medicine students are among the finalists for two prestigious campus-wide innovation awards through the Technology Entrepreneur Center in The Grainger College of Engineering. The Illinois Innovation Prize (IIP) for $20,000 is awarded annually to a creative and passionate student working towards innovative solutions that could have a positive societal impact. Carle Illinois College of Medicine students are helping meet the healthcare needs of hundreds of patients in east central Illinois at the Carle Illinois student-run clinic and getting an exceptional hands-on learning experience in the process. Carle Illinois student research offers new insight on homemade personal protective equipment, cited by CDC

A student-led research team at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is providing new answers on which materials are best for constructing homemade and alternative personal protective equipment.
