A generous in-kind gift from Elevate Healthcare is transforming simulation-based medical education at Carle Illinois College of Medicine, giving students and faculty advanced technologies that strengthen training, inspire innovation, and prepare the next generation of Physician Innovators.
First-year med student Allie McDermott practices her skills on an Elevate Healthcare manikin in the JUMP Simulation Center.
The gift will directly benefit Carle Illinois’ medical student learning experiences at the Jump Simulation Center, which offers simulated training to develop technical skills in a low-risk environment with virtual reality, manikins, and task trainers.
Elevate Healthcare’s gift brings a new generation of simulation technologies to the center, including state-of-the-art patient simulators, the Elevate Learning Space platform, upgraded cameras, sensors, and supporting hardware that will enhance clinical skills training, Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE), and interdisciplinary education.
Faculty will benefit from AI-enabled assessment tools that streamline evaluation and provide learners with more meaningful feedback. Integrated inventory and scheduling capabilities improve operational efficiency across the simulation program.
The collaboration between CI MED and Elevate Healthcare also creates new opportunities for innovation. Students will help evaluate emerging simulation technologies, collaborate on new applications for medical education, and contribute user feedback that informs future product development. Access to the broader Elevate Healthcare simulation network also connects the college with peer institutions globally, fostering collaboration and accelerating the exchange of new ideas.
In recognition of this generous gift, the Jump Simulation Center’s surgical suite has been named the Elevate Healthcare Learning Lab.
