Clinical Sciences
The Carle Illinois College of Medicine trains caring clinicians committed to delivering compassionate, human-centered care. Through early immersive clinical exposure and mentoring by the region's top clinicians, our students develop the skills to become physician leaders equipped to revolutionize health care delivery.
Clinical faculty members play an essential role in our mission, helping to reshape the field of medicine and redefine success for future physician-innovators.
REAL-WORLD CLINICAL EXPERIENCE
Clinical Science Faculty members guide students through immersion in the clinical setting
Our partnerships with Carle Health and other clinical affiliates offer students in-depth clinical experiences in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, psychiatry, neurology, family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology. At Carle Illinois, clinical immersion begins earlier than at many medical schools.
EXPLORE SPECIALTIES
Advanced electives and sub-internships ready students for residency
Carle Illinois students have an early opportunity to engage in advanced clinical electives in which they have a direct impact on patient care. Fourth-year students may choose from a wide range of sub-internships -- either locally or as an away rotation -- that prepares them for the residency experience.
