Today, the highly-selective Carle Illinois College of Medicine has extended offers of admission to its first 32 students. With more than 1,000 applicants from nearly all 50 states, these 32 individuals have been identified as potential future physician-innovators who will excel in this unique engineering-infused curriculum.

One local student received her acceptance in a hand-delivered package from Dean King Li. Watch the surprise delivery in the video below.

“Our 32 accepted students have already shown to be inspiring individuals who have great potential to revolutionize health care,” said Dr. King Li, Dean of the Carle Illinois College of Medicine. “We welcome them to the world’s first engineering-based college of medicine, and we’re ready to equip them to be physician-innovators.”

Overall, Carle Illinois admits score higher on the MCAT than matriculants to medical schools nationwide. Matriculated Carle Illinois students will begin their education on July 2, 2018.
