On Friday, January 19, 2023, the Carle Illinois College of Medicine celebrated the dedication of the Donald A Greeley, MD & Elizabeth A. Greeley, PhD Problem-Based Learning Room. Dr. Greeley and his wife Elizabeth generously donated $100,000 to name one of the new larger Problem-Based Learning rooms in the Learning Resource Center, becoming the first named donors of spaces in the Medical Sciences Building.

Dr. Don Greeley is a familiar face to students, faculty and staff at CI MED, having been involved with the college since its inception, holding roles as Clinical Course Director for the Respiratory Block, a clinical teacher, and valued mentor to CI MED students.

Don has said he has been inspired by the intelligence, compassion, drive, and ingenuity of the Carle Illinois students and wants to contribute in a small way to their success - but it is important to note how Don has inspired many generations of physicians with his own intelligence, compassion, drive, and ingenuity.

His dedication to medical education and UIUC began many years ago with the Legacy College when he served as an assistant professor.
