Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association
The Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) at Carle Illinois College of Medicine is dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities through advocacy, education, and service. As a chapter of the national APAMSA organization, the group aims to foster cultural awareness, provide a supportive community for AANHPI-identifying students, and address health disparities affecting these populations. The CI MED APAMSA chapter offers opportunities for medical students to engage in meaningful outreach, professional development, and cultural exchange. Through events such as speaker panels, heritage celebrations, mentorship events, and community service initiatives, they strive to enhance understanding of AANHPI health issues while empowering future physicians to practice with cultural humility and equity in mind.
In alignment with our mission to foster a supportive environment for all members of our university community, this programming is open to all eligible persons regardless of race, color, or national origin.
